Yesterday the boys in Year 7 enjoyed a productive visit to Mitcham Orchard run by Sustainable Merton. The weather was kind, which meant boys were able to complete a task of building 3 bug hotels in the grounds of the orchard.
Each team used old ceramic pottery, sawdust, straw, pinecones, twigs, sticks and anything else they could find to create a safe haven for mini beasts. Boys were reminded that bugs are necessary to pollinate plants and feed birds.
Well done for a lovely morning in the great outdoors being responsible citizens and contributing to the local community in line with the Junior Award Scheme for Schools (JASS).
