After a gap of five years, Year 6 were finally able to enjoy a visit to the beautiful Loire Valley in France. Aaron K wrote this report:

“My time in The Loire Valley was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience with many highlights. The only negative thing was having to get up at 3 am to get to the ferry in time!

“On Saturday, we had an amazing castle tour in Amboise. It was very interesting to find out the diversity between French and English monarchs at the same time period. Also, on Saturday, I liked the fabulous taste and experience of chocolates in the chocolate making workshop. I especially liked the ‘raspberry’ chocolate, but in France it cannot be called ‘chocolate’ because it does not have enough cocoa.

“On Sunday, the whole day was a highlight. In the morning, we were all very hyped for Futuroscope Theme Park and wanted to explore everywhere we could. My favourite ride was a ride about the culture in the surrounding area: ‘La Vienne Dynamique’. The first half was a very satisfying video about all the good things about the area and the second half was a fun mini movie about someone who needs to get to his wedding, and it included: a race car and lots of special effects. They completed the show with water jets, machines that blow air into your face and bristles that tickled your ankles.

“At the end of the day, we were all very tired but still wanted to watch the amazing evening laser and fireworks show which lasted until almost midnight and we were all exhausted when we fell into bed!”
