“The more effort you put in to your time at Rokeby, the more you can grow and develop before you join your senior school”
In which year group did you start at Rokeby?
Reception
Which senior school are you currently attending?
Epsom College
What do you miss about Rokeby?
I really miss the amazing overseas sports trips to Canada and Holland, as well as the incredible rivalries with schools such as Cranmore. Also, the inspirational teachers that encouraged me to try various other activities and take on new challenges.
Best things about Upper School
The increasing responsibility as you climbed up the year groups was a huge part of being in the Upper School. Being in the School Council and having an opportunity to bring about your own changes to the school was amazing and it has encouraged me to take on even more challenges.
Best memory/favourite moment
Finishing my Latin exam at the end of Common Entrance was a great moment. After that all I had was Valedictory to look forward to. It was an amazingly liberating feeling.
Best trip
My favourite trip was the rugby tour to Canada. All the people that hosted us were very welcoming, and we got to see the incredible sights of Vancouver. I distinctly remember being out on the freezing cold sea for some whale watching with all my friends on the same tiny boat. The rugby was great fun on top of all the other amazing experiences.
Biggest achievement
My biggest achievement was being chosen to be Head Boy. It gave me a great chance to learn various aspects of leadership, and also gave me a chance to gather the opinions of all the boys at the school from Reception to Year 8.
One piece of advice to younger boys
Take every opportunity you are given. Audition for all the plays you can, give it your all in every rugby or football session and sign up to all the activities that catch your eye. The more effort you put in to your time at Rokeby, the more you can grow and develop before you join your senior school.
Comment from parent
We are so grateful to Rokeby for the wonderful start it gave all three of our boys and the brilliant preparation it provided for Year 9 and beyond!
