Charities We Support

Every two years, Rokeby boys shortlist and vote for the school’s House Charity, which we then support by holding mufti days, cake sales, and other events at school.

In 2024-2025, we are supporting Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity for the second and final year.

About Rainbow Trust

An estimated 86,625 children in England have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. Many thousands of families have to face the all too real possibility that their child may die and struggle to cope on a day-to-day basis. Rainbow Trust’s Family Support Workers provide a lifeline to these families and children.

How Rainbow Trust Helps

Rainbow Trust supports the whole family including parents, carers, the unwell child, brothers, sisters and grandparents. Support is hugely varied and depends on the needs of the family. It can include:

  • listening to a family’s fears and anxieties
  • helping to explain illnesses, diagnoses and treatments
  • keeping a seriously ill child company during hospital stays
  • driving families to medical appointments to help save time and money
  • organising fun activities to help sick children, their brothers and sisters
  • support through bereavement and grief.

In 2023-2024, we were thrilled to raise £2,567.95 for Rainbow Trust. This sum is enough to provide 85 hours of support to a family in need.

Smart, Skilful and Kind in Action

Every Christmas, we visit Staywell Services’ residential care home in New Malden, Raleigh House. Our Choir sings carols to the residents, and we distribute hampers of treats collected by the whole school community. During December, the boys also collect food for the Kingston Foodbank to help make Christmas a little more cheerful for local families experiencing hardship. Each Rokeby House competes to collect the greatest number of items.

2023-2024 Charitable Giving

During 2023-2024, London Music Fund received £698.20 collected at our annual carol service. 91 Rokeby boys from a range of year groups participated in the Knight Frank Schools Triathlon and raised a colossal £6,359.98, split between Restless Development (£4,784.98) and Forever Angels (£1,575).
