Rokeby Drama brings boys out of themselves, developing their communication skills and their confidence. Drama is taught throughout the school from Year 3. It becomes optional later in Year 7 and is a very popular choice.
Boys might start with Drama warm-up exercises or specific skills, while the main part of the session may be a mixture of reading and acting a scene from a play and improvised acting in groups.
Plays are put on at least every other year, and the recent production of ‘Oh What a Lovely War’ was highly successful, giving an opportunity for the boys to perform in front of larger audiences. Smaller performances take place in our annual Arts Festival as well as in many excellent assemblies.
