Reception - Year 8 Animals workshop

Posted: 16/03/2017

As part of 'Science Week' we were lucky enough to welcome Walter from Animal Edutainment. He brought with him a selection of fascinating creatures which all boys had the chance to hold and learn interesting facts about.

The invertebrates group was superbly represented by the Chilean Rose Tarantula, the Giant Madagascar Hissing Cockroach and the Macleay's Spectre Stick Insect. The ambassadors for the vertebrates were the Tiger Salamander and the Giant African Bull Frog. Representing the amphibians and the reptiles we had the Bosc Monitor, Corn Snake, Crocodile and Gecko. Finally, representing the mighty mammals we had the Tenrec, the African Pygmy Hedgehog and the very popular Chinchilla.

We were sad to see them go but they certainly deserved a rest after two very busy days at Rokeby. Well done to all the boys for facing their fears and getting close to some truly scary beasts.
