Extra Curricular Activities
In order for boys to thrive at Rokeby, their personal welfare must come first. We aim to ensure that each boy is valued for who he is and for his place within the group. To this end we take pastoral care very seriously.
As part of each boys' personal development, we teach him to be aware that he is part of a community, both in school and also in the community.
Rokeby boys love their Houses. We have four: Bazalgette, Galsworthy, Moody and Olive, each one with a Captain who sits on the School Council. There are many inter-house competitions, which are usually great fun.
The School Council is very much at the heart of the school. Every year the council is elected by staff, taking the boys' views into account. The council consists of twelve Year 8 boys as follows:
- Six Prefects including the Head Boy and Deputy Head Boy
- Four House Captains
- 2 Assistant Prefects, on a term by term rotation.
Trips & Activities
We believe it is vital to offer boys opportunities to go on a wide variety of visits during their time at Rokeby, including to Fishbourne Roman Palace, Hampton Court and many places in London. Some longer, residential trips are educational in many ways, not least because they allow children to develop co-operative and social skills and learn a little responsibility.
“Education is always about the future and this is, in many ways, why we are a prep school”
